Connect your own Stripe account
In Canada, the US and Australia, guest card payments are charged on your own Stripe account and land in your bank — we never hold your money. Connecting takes about five minutes and you only do it once.
- 1
Create a Stripe account at stripe.com if you don’t have one, and finish its account setup so Stripe enables charges for you.
- 2
Open Payouts in the sidebar. The "Your Stripe account" card links straight to the page in Stripe where you create a key.
- 3
Create a restricted key and allow: Payment Intents & Charges (write), Refunds (write), Balance transactions (read), Webhook Endpoints (write), Account information (read). In a hurry, your standard secret key (sk_live_…) works too.
- 4
Paste the secret key and your publishable key (pk_live_…) into Higgs and connect. Online payment switches itself on once Stripe confirms charges are enabled.
- 5
From then on, Stripe deposits your card sales to your bank on its own schedule. There’s nothing to request in Higgs — the Payouts page just shows you what came in and links to your Stripe dashboard.
TipGrant the Webhook Endpoints permission. Without it, a payment can briefly show as unpaid if the guest’s phone drops connection right after paying — the webhook is the backup that confirms it.
