Receipt printing

Printing that doesn't need a computer tethered to it

Higgs prints from the browser directly to an Epson network printer on your Wi-Fi. No print server, no driver install, no laptop in a cupboard doing nothing but printing. Add the printer's IP address and hit test print.

No print server

The browser talks to the printer over your own network. Nothing in between.

Epson network models

Any Epson TM with Ethernet or Wi-Fi and ePOS-Print.

Per-device auto-print

The pass prints automatically; the office tablet stays quiet.

Honest setup docs

Including the certificate step that trips everyone up — written down, not support-only.

How it works

Browser to printer, over your Wi-Fi

Setup is a name and an IP address. Port 443 and SSL are the correct defaults for Epson ePOS printers and are pre-filled, so for most restaurants the whole configuration is one field.

  • Add a printer by name and IP, then hit Test Print.
  • Works from any staff device on the same network.
  • The one genuine gotcha — trusting the printer's certificate once per device — is documented step by step.

The kitchen

Auto-print confirmed orders at the pass

Turn on kitchen auto-print for a specific device and every confirmed order prints at that station without anyone touching a screen. It's a per-device toggle, so only the stations that should print, print.

  • Runs alongside the kitchen display, or instead of it.
  • Modifiers and ingredient changes included on the ticket.
  • A good bridge while a paper-trained kitchen gets used to a screen.

Buying one

We tell you exactly what to buy

The rule is simple: an Epson TM model with a network interface. The TM-m30II is the safe default. USB-only printers and other brands aren't supported, and we say so up front rather than after you've bought one.

  • Recommended: Epson TM-m30II — ePOS-Print on by default, compact enough for a counter.
  • Also supported: TM-m30, TM-T88VI/VII, TM-T20III, TM-T82III, TM-U220 — Ethernet or Wi-Fi versions.
  • Not supported: USB-only or serial-only printers, and non-Epson brands.

Printing should be a printer and a network — not a printer, a network, and a computer nobody is allowed to turn off.

Frequently asked questions

Which printers work with Higgs Menu?
Any Epson TM receipt printer with a built-in Ethernet or Wi-Fi interface and ePOS-Print — the TM-m30II is the recommended default. USB-only and serial-only printers, and non-Epson brands such as Star, are not supported.
Do I need a print server or a computer connected to the printer?
No. The browser prints directly to the printer over your own network, so there is no print server, driver install or tethered computer.
My test print failed. What's wrong?
Almost always the certificate step. Because the dashboard is served over https, the browser refuses to talk to an untrusted printer — open https://your-printer-ip once in that browser and accept the certificate, then re-check the Wi-Fi and IP address.
Can kitchen tickets print automatically?
Yes. Kitchen auto-print is a per-device toggle, so confirmed orders print at the stations you choose and nowhere else.
Where do I buy one?
In Canada, from Amazon or any authorised Epson reseller. In Mongolia, from a local Epson distributor in Ulaanbaatar — ask specifically for the network version.
