Creating
Two decisions and a code
Pick something short and easy to say out loud, choose percentage or fixed amount, and optionally cap it. Percentage codes feel generous on big orders; fixed amounts keep your exposure predictable.
- Percentage or fixed-amount discounts.
- Optional expiry date and maximum number of redemptions.
- Live immediately on save — no scheduling step to forget.
Redeeming
The guest does the work
In the cart, the guest types the code and taps apply. A valid code shows the discount as a line item and updates the total before they order; an expired or exhausted code gets a clear message.
- Discount shown as a line before the guest commits.
- Clear errors on expired or used-up codes, so they can try another.
- Applies to new orders only — it can't be bolted onto an order already placed.
Managing
See what's working, switch off what isn't
Every coupon shows its status and redemption count. Pause a seasonal code rather than deleting it, and past orders keep their discount history either way.
- Usage counts per code — your campaign result, without a spreadsheet.
- Pause to make a code invalid without losing it.
- Deleted codes don't rewrite the history of orders that used them.
A discount code without a goal is just margin you gave away on purpose.

Frequently asked questions
- What kinds of discount can I offer?
- A percentage off or a fixed amount off, with an optional expiry date and an optional cap on total redemptions.
- Do my staff have to apply the code?
- No. Guests type the code into the coupon field in their cart and apply it themselves. The discount appears as a line item before they order.
- Can a coupon be added after an order is placed?
- No. Coupons apply to new orders only.
- Can I turn a coupon off temporarily?
- Yes. Pausing makes the code invalid without deleting it, which is what you want for seasonal codes you'll reuse next year.
- How do I know if a promotion worked?
- Each coupon shows its redemption count on the Promotions page, and the effect on revenue and item mix shows in Reports.
